Location: Sheldon, Vermont

History: Kane’s Scenic River Farm was started in 1940 by Tom’s Grandfather.  Tom’s father bought the farm in 1973 after a barn fire. At this time Tom started to run the farm at age 15. In 2002, a new barn was built and Kane’s Scenic River Farm LLC. was started.  Tom, Nancy and their son Aaron are partners in the farm and Tom and Nancy’s daughter Ashley is a partner in Kane’s Cow Power LLC.  The farm employs 11 people in addition to the four active family members.

Production:The Kane farm is expected to produce about 1.2 million KWh per year.
