CVPS
plug ’n go is a new program that allows customers with a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle to use CVPS energy to reduce driving costs and air pollution by substituting off-peak electricity for gasoline. Join the Program! Let us know! (Click here.) While hybrid electric vehicles are still in the minority in Vermont and across the country, they are becoming more and more readily available and affordable, and we want to know if you have one, especially if you are interested in conventing a hybrid to a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV). If you are interested or are seriously considering converting a hybrid to a plug-in hybrid, please CONTACT US, and SIGN UP for our off-peak rate. We can help you reduce gasoline costs. Why do we want to know if you're coverting a hybrid to a PHEV? Because with your PHEV, we can help you reduce gasoline consumption and costs even more than a regular hybrid. Our off-peak rates allow customers to plug in their PHEV at night, and provides transportation for the equivalent of less than $1 per gallon of gasoline. Green up your trips even more! (Click here.) By converting to a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV), you have already begun removing about 8,000 pounds of CO2 from the air. You now have an additional opportunity! Green up both the electricity you use to recharge your PHEV and neutralize your gasoline consumption by removing another 6,188 pounds of CO2. Click HERE to learn more. More benefits of CVPS plug'n go. An electric motor is much more efficient than a gasoline engine. This is especially true for stop-and-start driving, and the CO2 content of the fuels used to make electricity is significantly lower than gasoline. So, when you convert a hybrid to a PHEV, and sign up for our off-peak rate, you'll be getting much cleaner energy to power your car. Central Vermont’s power supply mix is very low emitting. The electric generation in New England that would be used to charge cars at night is primarily from natural gas. Electric plants are more than 50 percent efficient, while car engines can range from 15 to 30 percent efficient. It is also more economic to control emissions at large power plants instead of at each tailpipe, and future electric system power supplies may be even cleaner and more efficient. What are you waiting for, CONVERT THAT CAR, and SIGN UP for our off-peak rate. Call 747-5520 for more information.
