VT Utilities Request for Proposals
“Contingent-Need” Solicitation for New Resources (Updated 11/25/08)
CVPS and Green Mountain Power (together, the “VT
Utilities”) are soliciting proposals from Bidders to pursue long-term
planning options with the VT Utilities and to identify and initiate discussions
with potential long-term suppliers having the capability of supplying up to 150
MW of base load power beginning in March, 2012 or later.
Proposals in response to this “Contingent-Need RFP” will be
considered assuming: (1) the Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power Station (“VY”)
is not relicensed, and/or (2) negotiations with VY’s owner do not produce
an acceptable power contract.
Any contracts executed as a result of this RFP will be entirely contingent
on CVPS’s and GMP’s determination that VY will not exist in their supply
portfolios beyond March 21, 2012.
