CVPS Fill the Cupboard Challenge

The CVPS Fill the Cupboard Challenge recruits businesses, schools, churches and community organizations in Rutland each fall to conduct their own food drives and see who comes out on top. CVPS pledges 25 cents for each food item donated through the Challenge and donates another $500 in the name of the winning group to the Rutland Community Cupboard.

Last year, over 20,000 food items were collected through the Fill the Cupboard Challenge by over 50 organizations throughout the Rutland area. The food is a real boost for the local food shelf, which is often depleted before the holiday season begins. The Rutland Community Cupboard serves over 500 families each month and gives out approximately 15,000 food items in the same time.
