What we offer

A Unique Culture: We have a high-performance culture based on living our values, continuous improvement efforts and Servant Leadership, where each leader serves his or her employees by identifying and meeting the legitimate needs of those employees and influencing them to contribute toward the common good. Our employees are committed to each other and to serving our customers. CLICK HERE TO VIEW OUR VIDEO ABOUT THE TRADITION OF COMMITTMENT OUR EMPLOYEES HAVE BEEN PRACTICING SINCE THE COMPANY BEGAN.

Professional Growth: We want to see our employees grow within the company and promote from within whenever possible. We have an open environment when it comes to employees applying for internal positions. New jobs are posted internally with job descriptions and salary ranges. Interested employees are encouraged to apply with the full knowledge of their supervisor. The company supports continuing education, with financial help through our Education Assistance Program.

Competitive Salaries and Benefits: We maintain attractive levels of compensation and benefits. Position salary ranges are benchmarked regularly against those offered at comparable companies for comparable jobs to be sure we are competitive. Our benefits are very comprehensive and include health insurance, dental and vision insurance, 401k with a 4.25 percent match, and 3 percent core contribution, vacation, holiday pay, sick pay, life insurance, wellness offerings, and other plans.

Quality of Life: Vermont is known for the Green Mountains, with world-renowned skiing, great hiking, green forests, and a barn-spotted rural countryside. Vermont prides itself on its small historic towns and farms, as well as its historic downtowns, with world-class recreational, educational and cultural opportunities available.

According to Morgan Quinto, a state and city ranking publication, Vermont is the one of the safest states in the union. Its 376 public elementary and secondary schools include 16 area vocational centers. Vermont schools have received national acclaim for innovative programs, including multi-grade classes in elementary schools and student writing projects.

I was recruited to work at
CVPS in 1989 from Seattle,
where I was working for a
utility fives times this size.
I’ve been amazed at the
mixture of ‘best and
brightest’ we’ve attracted at
CV and the exciting
challenges we’ve tackled. I
love the opportunities I’ve
had for growth at work and
for raising my family in
Vermont.
